>>10377438Caffeine isn't a good stimulant, and tends to produce a scatterbrained jittery state if you have too much. The fact it's legal everywhere is the only reason it's so culturally popular really. It increases adrenaline, and also dopamine a bit, but mostly it acts as an adenosine antagonist which makes it more of a drowsiness inhibitor than a true stim. It's a joke compared to amphetamines, 3-FPM etc. Also it's easy to get into an over-caffeinated addict cycle where you never sleep properly, and are just using it to manage the effects of that and get back to feeling sort of okay, rather than deriving any benefit.
Try modafinil / adrafinil instead, be aware of their long half-life and don't start taking them every day though. Nothing can compensate for long-term lack of quality sleep, but they can be very useful when used occasionally, especially if you work weird shifts that alternate between day and night.
