I didn't really put any thought into it in the moment outside of shoulder weapon and fire back. It's after that the humanity hits you. When it's all over and you realize what you've done....then you see them for the humans they are. Especially when you find letters home or pictures of their families. Don't get me started on having to do surveillance and do someone in their own home with their family just a room away.
