The purpose of life is for man to reach his spiritual potential( this includes perfecting his physical form).
Hardship and trying times are the greatest teacher of all. And without knowing, seeing and understanding evil, degeneracy and emptiness/pointlessness one cannot seek knowledge and truth because he doesn't recognise why he should.
Also, the world isn't the kingdom of God, that's paradise, the place where the men who have achieved apotheosis enjoy eternal life, whether it's literal or not, doesn't matter( their lives are written and talked about for centuries after their deaths and/or they weren't plagued by regret on their death bed and their soul wasn't heavied by sin). The story of Adam and Eve is the same one as Pandora's box. Man's curiosity and search for knowledge led to evil as well as virtues being released onto the world, without the one the other wouldn't exist and man wouldn't know about either
