Turns out there was a small pipe leak in the basement and there was like atleast a hundred of these moisture spiders. They have really really nasty webs that feel extra gross if they touch your skin, they werent good at catching bugs either cuz there were also flies in the basement. I sucked then all up with a hand vacuum killing probably 4 generations of spiders as well as well as the flies. By next summer a ton of them showed up again, must've missed a couple. No more flies though.
We also had a golden orb weaver that lived inside the glass box of a porch lamp just outside our back door. Every night in would turn the lamp on and smoke a cigarette or two and watch as his net got filled by stupid moths and other dumb bugs. I'd leave the lamp on all night and by morning his web was destroyed and id get to watch him build it all over again the next night. It was pretty awesome.
