>>8417026Don't eat them, garlic that's mushy or shows signs of mold (brown spots or white fuzz is a great indicator) has gone bad but there should still be some cloves that are okay. Check over all of them and throw away any garlic that matches the aforementioned descriptions.
If you don't want to take any risks, then just toss out all the bulbs and get some new ones whenever you get the chance.
Side note, garlic that has green sprouts isn't dangerous to eat but it can be quite bitter, so if you want to avoid that then toss out the head as well.
