Darwin's theory did not arise from examining fossils. It was based on how animals alive to day look similar but have differences that allow them to do different things. His theory that they evolved from similar ancestor has never been corroborated by fossil record. People fill in the gaps with their own imaginings. Paleo-archaeologists admit this themselves, the honest ones. There have been many cases of fraud in people trying to find the thing that proves evolution. The science is full of gaps and assumption still.
