Not sure if that's because it was never there in my timeline before or whether I'm more used to just seeing shit like pic rel rather than their actual flag.
Saying that, I've definitely drawn the Russian flag for school stuff in the past so I think I would have remembered a star being there, as I tend to very anal about such details when drawing things.
