There are EDEs, and 3 types of people. The hierarchy is as follows:

Stay awake a few days and you'll begin to see them. Stay awake a bit longer and you'll begin to understand their threats. Sleep is a spell cast upon humanity by a force ancient books refered to as the Devil. Sleep keeps humans in a perpetually metaphysical groggy state, never being able to comprehend more than is right in front of them. Fight the spell and you too can see what we see.
