in the alegory, both the addict (low standards) and the narcomaniac (high standards) are junkies
the addict is dependant on the drug to keep on living hid normal life
the maniac only seeks drugs for the sake of high, hes already ready to kill people for them so it's a no brainer hes not living a normal life while on them
a fiend (as in a dope fiend, smackhead, tweaker, pothead...) is something of an inbetween option- ready to suck dick even for the low standard stuff, always begging for cash etc
a casual user doesn't need them but he wants them and I honestly can't blame him as drigs are nice, they are pretty neato mosquito-s if you ask me
