Now, when I was in Germany last month I failed to connect with any of you guys. Most of you treated me like I'm a monkey that just got down from a tree - I was talking to a dude, we have the same bachelor, just he did his in Germany and I in Bosnia and the dude starts explaining the concept of studying and a university to me. It was surreal, like he thought I did not know what a university is. Most people might think there's a language barrier, but with me there's none. Another guy who I spoke with asked me something in English, I replied in German, and we talked like that for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes of listening to my C2 German he said: "Ah, Sie sprechen ein bisschen Deutsch!" A third guy, which I met randomly, started asking me about Bosnian history and started some obvious antimuslim crap (I don't care, I'm an atheist), but was shocked to hear that Bosnians we're on the Austrian/German side in both World Wars...
I was even more shocked that I had more heartfelt communication and possibility to even be friends with random Turks, Arabs, whatever, that don't even speak German, but we're more open.
So, back to my initial question, what's wrong with you guys?
