i've got em all R now actually. the way it works though it's much better to have 9 R10s than 1 R90. the difference between R98 to R99 is the same as R1 to R2 and not every section of a song has the same amount of notes. so for if we assume i super perfect everything then with just 1 R90 card it might only be active in parts of the song with relatively few notes or really long sliders so it's not getting the full value so to speak. with an even spread of lower star cards you're getting the same bonus at every part of the song so you're guaranteed maximum value out of dense parts and minimal loss out of sparse parts.
if you were to look for certain songs that are mapped with 1 or 2 really dense parts you could hypothetically pump 1 card to a high rating then just grind the song until that card is active at the right time, but that sounds really annoying. could be viable with something like JYP where he both has a big library to find a suitable song in and is a solo artist so you're only taking a 1/3 to get the right card at the right time, but i don't think it's worth it even then
