Again though, this is expounding the text, what God left to us as our ONLY tradition, just like in the Old Testament, all traditions of the leadership had to be abandoned as they weren't given in writing by God through prophets or apostles.
The leaders who had the keys to the kingdom in the OT had no right to teach anything that wasn't written down in Biblical texts. No oral law or tradition was from God.
So if it's not in a text written by an apostle or someone who was commissioned by Christ, it's not legitimate and has no authority.
No Pope or Priest can override God's Word, not the OT or NT.
