Imagine burning yourself alive because your favorite TV channel shut down. Maybe it was just a really good channel? Maybe they were just a beacon of truth that the Taiwan government brought down?
Except not, because they've gotten fined 21 times before for spreading biased misinformation, and they had to shut down because of their license running out, which they didn't or couldn't renew. Nothing more.
The really funny thing is, they just moved over to YouTube. So he self-immolated over literally nothing.
But I guess this one might be on the sadder side. It was an elderly dude, I believe.
Think, you're some 70 year old Taiwanese person and watching this one news channel is the one thing left in your life. Then you hear it was getting shut down. I mean, I guess you might as well kill yourself at that point?
Either way, holy shit, just how do you come to love this one news channel so much? Apparently, he was screaming about the host or something before he burnt himself. It's not like it's Adult Swim or something, I don't know, it's literally just another one of the million news channels you can get the exact same experience from.
I guess this is just mental illness, cause when people get irrationally attached to things that sound absolutely retarded, that's the most common case for it. Goes to show that anything ever has a fan of it.
Also, just what was he protesting? Their license to be on television ran out. They're not being forced off or anything.
This is the same as if you really, really loved a specific puppet show for some reason, and once the puppeteer said they were done, you got on stage and burnt yourself alive because you were upset that it's over. Just what the fuck.
