In fact the entire place could easily fit in Priscilla’s bedroom. How does one live within such limited space? Priscilla couldn’t make sense of it. To her, setting foot in what would be a normal apartment to most, was like walking around on an alien planet.
Priscilla watches as Carmody turns the TV on then heads into the kitchen. She glances at a door that must lead to the bedroom. Everything is so close. The time it takes to get from her own bedroom back in the mansion to the nearest kitchen feels like a eternity. Comparatively, this arrangement would save time.
As Carmody returns with the berries, whipped cream and bottle of Jen Beam, Priscilla’s focus switches from the apartment itself to its occupant. She’s putting in the effort to be a good host. It must be so hard without servants. The kitchen being so near must surely help, but still, Priscilla appreciated the effort.
She joins Carmody on the couch and smiles at her
>I know this must sound very strange to you but I’ve… never been in a regular apartment before. It seems snug. And in some ways, quite convenient. You never have to go very far to get anywhere. I like that.
