I've seen this with friends and also my own children. My children are blue eyed and blonde, while I am brown eyed and brown haired. My friend has a son born in Germany who looks like a perfect Aryan specimen, very light blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His son born in the Mid-Atlantic region has brown hair and darker blue eyes.
There's a reason Americans have, over the centuries, become a brown haired and brown eyed race and it isn't purely due to intermixing with non-whites but due to the factors I have cited here.
tl;dr - white people can't be born so far South as America is.
