Explanation:
I met these sea people in my dreams, and we were both curious of one another. There was a man made of millions of eels, a cuttlefish/blanket octopus that vibed in different colors, and a squid man with long thin fingers, but its head was an upside down squid.
Anyway, they visited me 5 nights in a row in my dreams, and in the 2nd they had me fight a shark man in a rusty domed cage, surrounded by various fish people things. I ended up killing their fighter, and this apparently made them extremely scared and angry? I also met face to face with their Leader/Deity/President(?) 80 foot long Pink/Purplish Squid posing in a Vitruvian Man pose, that spoke telepathically, and called me a figure from its dream, when in all Reality, I was dreaming of it. The three days after killing their champion, they kind of freaked out because apparently they didn't think they could die, especially when I was just a dream concept to them, and that they were forbidden from contacting me and when they saw me, I would make them shiver and chant "You're a bad dream, just a nightmare, you don't exist." Also, apparently the shark persons family was very angry and pissed? Anyway, they told me they weren't going to talk to me anymore, and I haven't had dreams of them again.
tl;dr edition.
Anon meets the Mindflayer Cthulu's in a dream and kills one of them. This causes them to freak the fuck out; this may actually be the reason for an upcoming war if it wasn't an actual dream.
Imagine if our first contact with an alien race was this, and the immediate reaction was to kill one of the emissaries. Whoops!
