So females tend to think of "darkERness" as masculine, and males tend to think of "lightERness" as feminine. Think Marylin Monroe vs Cary Grant for coloration.
The problem arises when other naturally darker races are introduced into a lighter race. Females who are too stupid to notice will fall back on the biological perception of darkERness as virility. Also stupid females tend to not notice when males are retarded.
