Imagine going in for a life saving surgery while knowing that the man who will be performing it actually genuinely believes earth is 6000 years old, it was created by a magical sky fairy and that despite being a MEDICAL doctor so fully knowing our bodies are riddled with signs of evolution such as the tail bone which humans have leftover from monkes, they think evolution isn't real.
That should terrify you.
To me it's very puzzling. These aren't some nignogs living in mudhuts, they are very intelligent men and scientists, and yet they believe in this terrible fan fiction full of plotholes called the holy bible.
Just ..how?
The only thing i can come up with, is that religion is death cope. People know they will die one day and for some the thought is so terrifying that the defense mechanism of the brain is to create this comforting delusion that you will go to heaven after death and see all your dead friends there and not even smart people are immune to succumbing to this comforting cope.
