>>10772423What does that picture portray? I've seen it before but I never found out.
>when they used to have to go to a museum or gallery to look at them, no doubt they appreciated them more than we doOh, people still go to museums and galleries, only that they never really seem to stop and allow themselves to take a painting in fully. Where I live people usually use them as venues for dates. They take the odd picture here and there and then leave. I've rarely overheard anybody discuss a piece with their date or whomever it was they were there with.
>although nothing can replace seeing pictures in person, or even thru a book, people can still be struck by art they see on a screenThat's true. Maybe I am just reluctant to accept change. What do you think, is art, no matter whether it's music or literature or the plastic arts, continually declining as the years go by? It seems dumbed down overall, probably because of the fact that marketability now plays a huge part in it.
>because of the 'Venus' shapeI don't know what to say to that. I normally prefer thinner women but this one is appealing for some reason. Her body doesn't come across as fat or repulsive to me, but rather very feminine. Well, at the end of the day it's just a drawing, the vast majority of real middle aged women doesn't look like that.
>it's silly, but there's something to be said about the pretty picturesIt's not silly, why would it be? It's a medium that's in part visual, so the pictures not only do but should be paid extra consideration to. After all, if I wanted a good story and nothing else then I'd rather just read a book. "Graphic novels", like you said, have something that books don't. They can convey emotion through the pictures, visual storytelling.
And I used to read manga. I haven't read one for years before this one.
>'Miss Don't Touch Me'I did not know that they dumped entire comics on /co/. Now since I haven't read any that weren't manga, the artstyle sure is striking.
