And if you were a stalker trying to spy your loved one doing someone they'd never want to show you, you'd pretend you never knew anything about what they do in private, since revealing that you know that would probably be very embarrassing for them and hurt them.
A good stalker would only spy on their love interest for the sake of passively enjoying viewing them.
