>>11342600Oh, I see what you're getting at. The sonic experimentation that post-punk bands espoused remains unparalleled for sure. I'm just the kind of guy who prefers music with a lot going on structurally; the more chords and phrases the better so long as everything fits.
See, that's where the intuitive sense comes in. I can't explain why Genesis sounds better to my ears than Porcupine Tree even if I were to transcribe and compare "Supper's Ready" to "Arriving Somewhere but Not Here." It just "fits" better.
