Rather, looks affect personality & vice-versa. They also affect mate selction/attraction. The result being that ugly people mostly all fit certain xenotypes. A relatable analogy is short men who are likely to have Napoleonic complexes and will seek tall women when possible. They breed with tall women who are swayed by the lil' man, thgus breeding women who falll for poseurs and/or future short men.
