I think just like all of his Gonzo journo he prob dug deep into the occult. I don't know how we can sit here and accuse him of committing the worst of the worst, when he at least exposed millions to the prospect that these things exist in our world. IMO a man like himself would be far above committing heinous acts like rape or murder, but I imagine he relished in the reality of other people falling for such trappings.
