I had a Mexican gardener and every month he had a completely new group of workers. He would hire people and never pay them. I live in a major city, so he would jet keep finding fresh immigrants.
The Jews, of course, at the true masters of the scamming.
If all you did for him is go to the store and buy materials for him then you got off easy. One question you might have is that "why did he even bother to negotiate if he wasn't even going to pay me?"
I dunno but they don't plan very well. He maybe got drunk and forgot exactly how he was planning to scam you.
