>>21202578Then she makes her way through the crowd toward the bar, and smiles encouragingly as a shirtless man wearing black shorts makes eye contact with her. Handsome face. Amazing body. Yeah, he’d do. The personality didn’t much matter, human men were useful for one thing, and it didn’t involve much conversation.
She turns her attention back to Kasumi as she reaches her, and catches some of her conversation with Ciara in the process. As Ciara disappears into the crowd, Lexi takes her place beside Kasumi.
“Hello O’Brian. What was that? You want to know what being a world champ feels like?” Lexi smirks. “It’s probably like 5% of what it feels like to be me every day, I suppose. And let’s be for real here, love. If anyone should be called Queen of the Beach, it’s neither you nor Duna. It’s me, the former beach volleyballer.”
“Anyway, what are you drinking?” Lexi asks. Her eyes divert from Kasumi, as she watches the shirtless man from earlier as her approaches. “Speaking of drinks, here comes mine.”
With a smile on his face, the man leans on the bar beside Lexi. “Woah babe. You’ve got a crazy hot body. You work out?”
Lexi cringes slightly. A part of her brain instantly found him less attractive the moment he started to speak. But her desires had been left unsated for too long, and the raw masculinity of a dumb jock like him was like gasoline on the fires that were the instincts she inherited from The Foremother.
“Yeah I work out. Buy me and my friend here a Yamazaki 18 and I might even give you a few of my secrets. Not that you need em with abs like yours mate.” Lexi starts laughing. “Oi ‘sumi, toss that crap you’re guzzling, we’re getting a proper drink love.”
