After sleeping in her own bed back in the mansion for the first time in what feels like an eternity, Nikki awakens feeling energised. But the feeling doesn't last. Jen is still dead. And being in a house full of memories of her is something Nikki finds deeply painful.
Nikki sits up in bed. She has so many questions.
First and foremost of those being how the hell is she even alive? Her last memory before being found by the other angels is of jumping off a cliff to the rough waters below on a stormy night. She was sure she'd wake up in heaven with Jen and Gemma after that. She would go to heaven, right?
And then, there was the way Madame Divine treated her that night they all slept in the beachside cabin. She was so... nice. It's not as if Priscilla hasn't been pleasant to her before. But this was different somehow. What did it mean? If Nikki was sure of anything it's that she wants to find out, perhaps more than she's ever wanted anything.
But the biggest mystery of them all was what Amy said to her. Jen is still alive, but invisible? What did she mean by that? She even said Madame Divine and Colby were also aware of this. Could it be true? Or just something said in the heat of the moment to provide temporary comfort?
Another thought runs through Nikki's head. Maybe Amy never said that at all. And maybe Madame Divine never looked at her lovingly and gave her her own jacket to keep her warm. Maybe she imagined it all.
