They can swim, others just stay afloat by the sheer amout of fat they accumulate from cucumbers. Just don't let them get any water into ears, I've heard that can end up tragically~
Guinea pigs, like most rodents, can't produce vitamin C, so gettin an infection or some otitis, or other nasty shit is pretty much a death sentence without antibiotics.
