I'm not actually certain what brings divine ratios like pi, e, 3-6-9, etc about, could literally be as simple as metasimultaneous experimentation figured out what functioned best in one quick go or as complex as some giant interwoven tapestry of computations. Book I'd recommend is Secret Teachings of All Ages, not so much for answers but to see how the same sort of spiritual themes and archetypes repeat over and over cross culturally.
