so the situation seems to be that mixing is dependent on the type of people as well. it comes from the fact that race is not a monolith but an average.
some blacks carry historic white dna from prehistoric and historic mixing. these recessive carriers can produce 'more white' children when paired with a white partner.
some whites carry the more black genes in them aswell ie the dominant traits like brown eyes and flat noses etc, so make more black like children, even if pairing with recessive white holding non-white partners.
i dont understand genes that much, but this is the best i can muster on the situation of 'how white can mixed people be'
