https://journals.asm.org/doi/pdf/10.1128/mBio.01206-14There are lots like it showing that bacteria play a role in plaque development. The idea that it is caused by fats is an old one pushed by lowfat food makers but it DOES NOT exist in the sciences any longer. Only in pop science and 'nutrition'. It's sugar mainly that causes the inflammation.
Now to what the anon said about iron and sugar. Since you know so much, do you know why ALL organisms in nature go out of their way to produce chemicals and proteins which bind iron? Like the Hemes in your red blood cells. Even plants and bacteria make compounds like this. They do it because iron is a limiting growth agent. To own it is to own the local ecology. That's probably the evo origin of hemoglobin and oxygen binding came later. So yes the moment I verified anons claim (a claim which I previously rejected when some random dental assistant told me), the iron and sugar make perfect sense. These are the two major limiting reagents for bacterial growth. There is definitely something going on here though it is not exactly in my field. Closer than some idiotic shill like you though.
