In the current age of nanotechnology and drone warfare; it is assumed that technology will continue to advance. Right now, the application I have previously theorized is a thing of science fiction, but not overly impossible to achieve; luckily we have our blessed intelligence agents across the globe keeping a monitor on such things to prevent a cascading events of a microdrone arms race from erupting into a full blown excursion.
(Yes hello Intelligence people. I'm aware you are observing because I used certain phrases. Don't worry, I'm on your side, I'm one of the good theorists, and I sincerely believe you have the best interest of society as a whole at heart.)
Regardless; if for whatever reason the failsafes by these unseen guardians should fail, due to the hubris of one nation, or a group not bound a nation, we must as a species consider the evolving world around us, and how to combat and defend ourselves, and our interests from threats we aren't ready to admit to yet.
I mean, the delay in telecom defenses into officiation 40 past the main concerns is a good start, but I think we should sincerely consider investing in counter drone warfare, and emerging technologies defense.
There are clever people with access to a growing field of technology; many of them much more clever and probably already have come to the same conclusion I had in my theory.
Thus the need to sincerely invest in both increased intelligence in the field of emerging technology, (specifically drone and micro/nanotechnology) and a subsiquent follow up system to handle outliers, or eventual breaches into this new age of warfare.
