You can use it to your advantage, like you're using the computer in front of you now, or you risk falling behind. In some sense there's not really a choice because you might need it for your job, and most people will be content to follow the trends just like they are now. Being more or less enslaved doesn't matter to them. But if the trends of technology continue, they won't have to struggle as much either. Of course people will choose the option that makes their life easier
