I always think of it from the perspective of what our ancestors would do if they replaced us.
Would they find an old marble statue with the arms broken off and marvel at it like some unattainable feat. Or would they simply replace it with a brand new cut and finished masterpiece.
If a temple like the parthenon was destroyed, would they patch up the peices. or would they demolish it and build back it back better and new?
