I'm currently working on something, and it will have some lore behind it
Story's codename: Merciless Cycle
"Oh, brave Mercenary. You aren't even aware of the fate upon you. You are arriving to an island at the north of the continent, the very same island in which you established the fate of the world long before men started to walk this earth
You shall witness and fight against evilness, no matter what form it may take. In the island you shall struggle against death and withering. The kingdom fell for this corruption, and it's your duty to put its inhabitants on rest. And in the mean time, you shall visit places that whisper memories of events that haven't even take place yet, and still, they occurred long ago in the past
Then, you will be back to the continent. You will go through the no-man's land, the murky and miry swamps, to finally reach the great city of the heavens. And next to it, the city of the broken moon. Do you remember its duke? no? not yet? very well... you will meet with your fate, sooner or later
You shall meet and team up with many curious folks. The most important ally to you, a former witch. One that will ask you for a promise. She wants you to come back and be at her side, for you're her candid friend
But the Void will take you and put you on a slumber, one that will last for a thousand years. Once you wake up, the world you knew will have vanished. The will be nothing left but a carcass. An still, it is your duty to fight against the Void and its influence over reality
You shall stand against the most gruesome form of carnal sin, and against the horrors that lie in the cosmos. Formless beings battled against the last protectors of the world, the great golems
Finally, you will reach the chasm of the universe itself. You will face the incarnation of what your kind considered a threat. But isn't it just the nature itself? why did you fight all this way? for what? Because at the end, you won't be victorious
