It's only the hyper inbred domestic bees used for honey and crops that are so fucked up. When you inbreed animals you can see hoe fucked up they become but with insects its not readily apparent until they just start dropping dead from the normally minor bee diseases.
If you want to fix (domestic) bees make them more genetically diverse, even if you have to sacrifice a few percent of honey production.
