They live the exact same lives they would in real life, with the same emotions, but since they spend all their time here, it all translates to those feelings being online. It still feels the same. Also, you can be more vocal about it when you have anonymity to protect you, so it helps exaggerate everything and create some juicy Game of Thrones tier drama between people who are too afraid to talk to the cashier in real life. I personally never experienced much human interaction in real life, so this is a good outlet for all the feelings and interactions I was robbed of by all those years of isolation.
