My country is doomed. It's fallen from grace irrevocably. We hate eachother so much that there is no hope of us ever coming together to solve any kind of problem. We instead snigger and chortle as wildfires burn down American homes, drought leaves American hydro-electric dams non-functional, as power plants fail and people die in the cold and frost. Our roads are shit. Our internet is barely serviceable. We have breadlines, mass unemployment, and an ever-expanding welfare state, coupled with a wealthy class who is 10x richer today than when I was a kid, while minimum wage has barely moved. The Tsar is Putting Gold on His Bread while the rest of us wait for deliverance from some kind of future we're continually promised but never get to see. Our life expectancy is reduced. Fertility is declining. Health is declining. Everything in my life since i was born has continually gotten worse, regardless of which political party is in charge, and I expect we'll all be dead or penniless by 2040, if it even takes that long.
So why do I keep living? Habit, I guess.
