i'd be approaching that level if i kept studying at the same pace that i was, but i haven't really learned anything new since classes started 2.5ish months ago.
during the most recent break i studied way way ahead, but my CS classes take up so much time that i haven't had the time to keep doing that, so i've basically just been reviewing things i already know through classwork.
i anticipate i'll get pretty close to conversational during the summer though. over the 2 month fall break i covered about one class's worth of material, so it shouldn't be unreasonable to expect i'll cover about two class's worth of material during the 4 month summer break. if i do it means i'd have knowledge equivalent to having completed japanese 4 which is supposed to be the one that leaves you capable of holding conversations comfortably
