>>10207312most of them, one anon keeps posting a petition about it, with a number of positive replies, people keep pushing for "more trumpbux" unironically
>>10207291the extra $2000 is proposed by the same people who proposed the CARES act
>on top of a minimum of $2400 a month to the unemployed (most likely much more), and $1200 to around a third of americans one timethis is already in place
the response i keep getting, from both people irl and here, is that "no those numbers don't make sense, unemployment should pay that much." you can read the bill or read the rare article talking about it in a negative light, but from the last chart i saw, all but 5 states give you a raise on unemployment right now, and those 5 still pay about 90% of your salary now. at 84k a year someone in massachussetts will make 120k on unemployment under current law. that fry cook is withdrawing a few years worth of his tax payments every month - unironically he will be a net tax liability in his whole life by july, even ignoring the benefits he's received in numerous other ways from government services, like military security
we have passed absurd amounts of welfare. our current benefits our far more generous than europe's. and this isn't even UBI but genuinely aimed at the low-income and the bills even say they're to address wealth inequality
>>10207294it keeps getting brought up by Qtier people. it's one of the things the media keeps mocking the far-right for, it's incredibly absurd and is pushed by technologically incompetent boomers, it has led to physical damage of the towers which is not only pointless destruction of infrastructure but also makes people look like deranged lunatics
to be quite honest the bill gates vaccine thing bothers me more because that's a revival of idiotic anti-vaxxer arguments (not the "i don't want government control" tier which has some basis, but the "IT'S THE MARK OF THE BEAST IT'S THE APOCALYPSE QUICK LET'S MAKE SURE ISRAEL IS SAFE" tier stuff)
