>>20587146They're actually quite comfy, and I like the Comfo Cap made by MSA. MSA was one of the early pioneers of mining helmets, especially in developing electric cap lamps instead of those flame helmets I've posted pics of before. These hard hats have cap lamp holder in front and cord holders in back, for the non-cordless cap lamps some miners still prefer.
Of course, I'd rather not have to wear a hard hat, but in a mine it's vital to have one on because little to medium sized rocks do fall off the roof. They just glance off of the good hard hats.
I also have one of these classic MSA Skullgard "Butte" full brim hard hat custom painted snow white and it looks wonderful. Really looks nice when cleaned up. Not great for low coal, this Butte full brim hat, but fine for pretty high coal and higher.
My "Butte" is a beaut!
