>>15983117Crazy part is I'm not a pessimist. My darkest posts are about incipient organisations modelled on existing organisations with less oversight. Most of it can be distilled down play stupid games, win stupid prizes at the societal level. From what I've heard though people are sick of video games mostly. Maybe they don't want to be told a game is stupid before trying it. My counter is your distant ancestors played these stupid games, without digital tools to keep people from running away from the playing field, and they were willing to die to stop the game. Oh well.
But anyway, the doomer thing, I don't fight the label, but I do insist for all the claims of building the future, they're building a nightmarish amalgamation of the worst of the past. Who knows, maybe people will become a little less complacent as Babel looms larger to the point looking at their feet is no longer an escape. Hope is a dangerous thing for a doomer like me to have. But I have it. Not enough Lana on this board.
