There's a large handful of weird unexplained cases but in my long experience with things like those usually it's only unexplainable because you're missing 70% of the picture even though it looks like you have all the information already.
There's definitely some sketchy weird shit going on in a lot of state parks and federal lands, I know for a fact some of it is a massive cover for steep embezzlement by bureaucrats but there's also shit like military bases that shouldn't be out there at all and also secret illegally-owned federal land rich folks build shit on.
