1. The risks of LASIK are underreported to a significant degree. Something like 1 in 5 patients experience lasting eye pain after their procedure, partial blindness, and/or extreme dry eye.
2. Patients will almost certainly need glasses eventually, regardless of the procedure. Multiple LASIK procedures are even more risky.
3. Sleep disturbances are practically a cover-up, and we're told by the establishment to essentially disregard them or falsify documentation. To put it bluntly, a small but significant number of LASIK recipients will experience traumatic nightmares of the procedure afterwards. Imagine a needle in your eye dream every night for hours.
Despite these fairly grave risks, the procedure is now very fast and itself painless. You've been warned, though.
