How does one square a giant civilization in a fantasy setting's world, and I mean really square it? Because the giants in most settings are just used as window dressing. If you really wanted to develop them as a race you'd need to either say fuck it and put them in the clouds or place them in a region that could sustain both them and potentially smaller races. Which means fuckhuge livestock animals too, which then means fuckhuge plants. Then there's the question of architecture because giants means giant buildings. And not least there's also potential conflict and warfare, because if giants are just really really big humans, how the fuck are they not the dominant race in any setting without making them retards? Because a twenty foot motherfucker in armor using a spear pretty much removes all opposition unless facing another giant, let alone giants with bows or giants with artillery. Woe be the idiot human who fucks with giants that have canons and mortars as large as them.
Similar to dragons being OP without without handwaveism, how would anyone face a mobile giant soldier trained in heavy armor, or fuck it, mounted on something, without the prospect of just immediately handing in a white flag when you see that there are scores of the same dude right behind the first, all in armor no one smaller could ever hope to defeat?
