>>19254132I think its more of a cultural thing of using train tracks as places to walk. Population density is insane in some places, and its probably the only wide open place you can freely walk or chill without 100 other people around you.
Tie into the fact there is less emphasis on safety, and thats why there are so many fatality videos out of that country. Plenty of people die from getting hit by trains in the US (I know, I have family in the industry and hear about it all the time), but its mostly suicides and bums, with a smaller amount of people being inattentive/careless around grade crossings.
