Over here in Germany we put corn on pizza and give it vaguely American nomenclatures like "Texas" "BBQ" "Western style".
The "American" in this example refers to the thick crust (we first got exposed to thick crust pizza by Pizza Hut so we associate it with American styles of making a pizza. Chicago deep dish style is still kinda obscure although some restaurants picked it up).
We have a notoriously experimental pizza delivery franchise named "Hallo Pizza" that has some of the most batshit insane seasonal pizza recipes. Like coleslaw, duck and gravy on pizza for Christmas.
