>>14590825That's an interesting way to look at it. One solution I've seen people mention before would be to create something like the EU but for the entire globe, but I'm not sure if it would work. The current EU has a set of principles, now I may not agree with some of them but there are other people, Muslims for example, who'd hate them so much they'd resort to acts of terrorism to rebel against them. You can't take everyone under the same umbrella and I am starting to think the West is finally coming to terms with it.
>>14590852I agree with the theory but I don't think we're in any real danger of that because animosity has always been part of humanity and suppressing it is impossible. Western Europe hasn't seen war in a while yet conflicts still remain, they're just within the borders of each country. Men hating women and vice versa, for example. Or we could take the internet, most people who actively use it look for someone or something to call an enemy which they can hate and wage an imaginary war against. Here on 4chan you can see this quite clearly on /pol/, a lot of the stuff that gets posted there is designed to enrage you. So war may change forms and become much more subtle but it will never really go away.
