Let's talk about the shittiest Touhou player character, Yoomu.
Youmu has the single worst design of all the Touhou characters. I mean she looks fucking dumb. Her dorky green dress, her stupid haircut and hair bow, and hair color, the fact she brings swords to a danmaku fight. It's just fugly. Like she goes "hurr durr I need two sharp pieces of metal when everyone else uses projectiles" I mean even Sakuya is smart enough to throw her knives like jeez.
I bet Zun just made her pander to katana fags while the far more noble Jian went to better characters like Miko who doesn't even use it that much because she's too good for it. And don't make me bring up the fact half her body is a flying sperm and consequently has the worst shottype ever in a shmup. Also, she's half dead but she isn't so she lives in the underworld? How edgy.
Oh and her danmaku (if you can call it that) are ugly and painful to look at. It consists of making giant white tears across the screen as if I punched the monitor. Like Jesus it looks so stupid and ugly compared to real bosses like Seija or even Yoshika.
Also, her theme sucks and is so boring for a 5th stage boss that it's inexcusable. The title makes no sense "Hiroari Shoots a Strange Bird" what the fuck is that supposed to mean since Yoomu can't even shoot a bird since she only has a fucking sword and the music just sounds like shitty synth and a drum machine that is so boring it gives me amnesia every time I listen to it.
Even Zun acknowledged how terrible she was as a character and removed her after Ten Desires because she was so out of place and added nothing to the story.
I think the absolute worst thing is her character though. I mean she exists to be a slave to a ghost and she's the equivalent of a Mexican day laborer/fast food cook. Like she's so stupid she has to cut stuff to understand it.
Good thing that Zun realized his mistake with these characters and put in far better characters like Futo and Miko in HM.
