When did Hell become Eternal? In Judaism which Christianity split off of, Hell(Gehenna) was very temporary, purgatorial. I can even see some Early Christian scholars believed that.
So when and why(if it is so) did Hell become eternal?
I've also heard the worst of sinners like Hitler will experience soul annihilation rather than a soul cleansing in Judaism.
