Women are biologically conditioned over hundreds of thousands of years to seek taller, more dominating guys. Even if they don't consciously acknowledge it, a taller man will be more attractive. And there will always be taller men around you.
Women don't want a man who is just "taller than her." She wants a man who is tall among men. It is embarrassing for women to be seen in public with a guy who is heightmogged everywhere he goes. She will be resentful toward a short male partner because of how he makes her look pathetic by association.
